Our team here at T-DOT Organics consists of many hardworking and amazing people. Most of our employees are volunteers from the community who share the same mindframe as us, that mindset is to improve our world as best we can possibly can. Here at T-DOT Organics we see our volunteers as some of the best people in the world, they have helped us get our company off of our feet and set our goal free. Our company was founded in 2019 by three very bright individuals, Amitav Johri, Owen Deweerd, and Matthew Burbidge. So far these people with the help of the volunteers have brought locally sourced sustainably grown food to many different communities.
Amitav Johri
Amitav Johri grew up in Toronto and was always amazed by some of the home food growing his family don't they had always grown fruits and vegetables in their backyard. Amitav grew up maintaining this bond with home and locally grown food, but soon realised that his neighborhood was unique, as not many communities could say to do this. After hearing about this Amitav made it his soul purpose to help bring locally grown food to many communities.
Owen grew up in Toronto but in a very different place than the other two founders, he grew up on Toronto Island. Owen says that the place is fantastic everybody has a garden with homegrown plants and fruits everywhere. Since Owen grew up on the Island he always was connected with the food he ate because a lot of it came from his garden. Owen sadly had to move to the mainland when he was a bit older and saw how different it was and how hard it was to grow plants in a condo. Owen decided that he would do his best effort to make it so even if you live in a condo you have access to locally grown food.
Matthew grew up in Toronto, Ontario and was always obsessed with growing food. He would plant all sorts of fruits and vegetables in his backyard and water and take care of them. This was a main source of Matthew’s diet, soon Matthew found out how most of the world's fruits and vegetables were made. He first hand saw the pollution that was caused by the production and the amount of pesticides and other chemicals were sprayed on them. After witnessing this monstrosity Matthew decided that he would make a change and step away from industrial farming and look towards locally grown produce.
